Overview

Candidate Profile

We are looking for Academic Administrators who are organised, reliable, flexible, and willing to go the exra mile to assist the Academic Team to ensure the smooth running of the Academic Programme within your centre.

Academic Administrators must be familiar and knowledgable when it comes to EFL courses, ensuring all academic records are kept up-to-date and information is correct. Academic Administrators will be the first point of contact for any enquiries from parents and agents relating to the academic programme and students performance, therefore they must be friendly and approachable at all times, always communicating in a professional manner.

Academic Administrators will also be responsible for any cover teaching required due to EFL Teacher sickness or shortages, ensuring the lessons they deliver are inconjuction with the relevant programmes in their centre.

We aim to give students an educational, culturally-enriching and memorable summer experience in a safe and supervised setting and we are looking to employ professional staff who will accept this responsibility, and have the necessary wide-ranging skills, experience and commitment to help us achieve this goal.

Qualifications
  • University degree in any discipline.
  • CELTA/Trinity Cert. TESOL (or Accreditation UK recognised equivalent).
  • DELTA/Trinity Dip. TESOL (or Accreditation UK recognised equivalent) is desirable.
  • PGCE (in English or MFL), QTS (Primary or Secondary), and CELTYL is desirable.
Experience
  • At least 1 years experience teaching in a wide range of contexts.
  • Administrative expereince, handling phone calls, emails, complaints, taking minutes etc., particualry as it relates to academic admin is essential.
  • Previous Summer School experience is desirable.
  • A strong knowledge of Google Workspaces is desirable.
Compensation

£760 per week.

Statutory holiday pay is paid pro-rata with each salary payment on top of the stated weekly salary.

Accommodation and Meals are provided free of charge on all courses.

Working Day

The Academic Administrator will work closely with the Academic Manager and Senior Teacher, carrying out all adminsitrative task relating to the academic programme and assisting the Academic Manager and Senior Teacher when required.

Much of the day is spent in the office, completing academic paperwork and dealing with any phone calls or emails relating to the academic programme and the students attending. The Academic Administrator will also be on hand throughout the day to assist EFL Teachers with preparing classrooms, worksheets, books and stationary. Academic Administrators will also be on hand during EFL Teachers prep time to support teachers with their lesson planning.

In cases of EFL Teacher sickeness or shortages, the Academic Administrator will be available to cover lessons, as such they must be flexible and willing to help out when needed. The Academic Administrator will create a bank of lesson plans to ensure they are able to immediately jump in to cover lessons.

The Academic Administrator will assist the Academic Manager, Senior Teacher and EFL Teachers in preparing for the students Leavers Ceremony on Friday, ensuring all student certificates are printed in time, and that there is enough stock for all students at the end of the week.

On Saturdays or Sundays, Academic Administrators will either be involved with excursions, Airport Transfers, residential duties or assisting the Academic Manager and Senior Teacher with preparation for the week ahead.
