Job description
Overview

A varied role which will give you exposure to the accounts and audit department while also studying for your ACA qualification. A larger accounting firm that has clients across Nottinghamshire and the wider East Midlands.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare accounts and reports for real clients.
  • Support clients with day-to-day finance tasks and practical business queries.
  • Use cloud and AI tools to make processes easier and more efficient.
  • Learn how businesses operate and discover ways to help them improve.
  • Develop communication, teamwork, and client care skills in a structured environment.
  • Attend internal audit planning meetings.
  • Work with clients to gain an understanding of their business and internal processes to aid planning for audit testing.
  • Perform regular audit testing to provide assurance over financial statements.
  • Use audit technologies to analyse client financial information, checking for areas of risk and error.
  • Review financial statements prepared either by the client or our colleagues.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with clients, both in person and virtually.
  • Send queries to clients to provide evidence of amounts and reconciling them with expectations.
  • Schedule regular catch-ups with both the client and your team to ensure you are working towards the audit signing deadline.
  • Communicate with your seniors when there is a difference between evidence provided by the client and data stated on the financial statement.
Profile
  • Full right to work in the UK
  • Minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree (doesn't have to be accounting related) and strong GCSEs / A-Levels
  • Ideally, you will have access to a car
