Responsibilities

  • Updating receipts cash flow forecast with remittances each day.
  • Posting receipts from the bank statements daily and allocating remittances advice.
  • Allocating nil accounts and Direct Debit receipts to ensure ledgers are up to date.
  • Take card payments from residents over the phone and accurately record the transactions.
  • Run system reports for analysis of the debtor book.
  • Assist with system cleansing for accurate customer communications.

Work

What you’ll do at work

Job duties:

  • Updating receipts cash flow forecast with remittances each day
  • Posting receipts from the bank statements daily and allocating remittances advice, accurately and in a timely manner
  • Allocating nil accounts and Direct Debit receipts to ensure ledgers are up to date
  • Take card payments from residents over the phone and accurately record the transactions in the financial systems Input accurate financial data into the finance system
  • Run system reports to aid with analysis of the debtor book
  • Assist with system cleansing to ensure accurate customer communications are sent out
  • Respond promptly and in a professional manner to debtors and internal enquiries
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, both internally and externally. Other general support to the wider Accounts Receivable team as directed.

What you’ll learn
  • Assist with the investigation and response to financial information queries.
  • Record and analyse financial data using the organisation's standard tools and processes.
  • Apply double entry bookkeeping and accounting standards to process financial documents, generate financial statements and report financial information to users of accounts.
  • Assist with production of accurate financial information for the preparation of accounts.
  • Reconcile financial data, such as, preparation of reconciliations or review of reconciliations.
  • Investigate, resolve or elevate transactional queries and errors within their remit as appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Communicate financial information in a way that non‑finance stakeholders can interpret and understand.
  • Utilise digital skills to present key financial information using finance and accounting software and applications.
  • Use software packages to assist with basic accounting tasks in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.
  • Communicate using varying approaches and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
Training schedule

Advanced Diploma - AAT Level 3 Advanced builds on the knowledge gained in the Foundation level. If you work in accounts or have studied accountancy before, you may be able to start at this level. You'll learn complex accounting techniques and master a number of accounting disciplines including financial processes, advanced bookkeeping, final accounts and ethical practices for accountants. This level will encourage you to master more complex accounting principles in both Bookkeeping and Management Accounting. You'll develop the technical skills to start, or progress, your career in accountancy and this will allow you to continue with your studies onto Level 4. To pass this level you'll need to study five units (also known as subjects), which are all mandatory. Four of the units are examined individually and there is also a synoptic assessment that you'll take towards the end of the level, which incorporates the final two units as well as drawing on all of the other units.
