Job summary

Airbus Operations Limited is seeking undergraduates for a 12-month Safety & Compliance internship at RAF Brize Norton. You will support flight operations safety, quality systems, and compliance initiatives as part of a cross-functional team.

The role requires pursuing a bachelor in Aerospace Engineering or equivalent, familiarity with Office tools, and an understanding of data analysis and trending. UK driving licence is beneficial; relocation may be needed.

• Open to undergraduates for the entire placement duration.
• Must be studying towards a bachelor degree in Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
• Able to inform graduation date on application.

Responsibilities

• Promoting safe ways of thinking and safety ideas within the organisation.
• Data analysis of safety occurrences and compliance issues to identify root causes.
• Identify and problem solve maintenance issues to stop reoccurrence.
• Data trending to identify areas of improvement and present to Airbus community.
• Occasional travel to other UK sites.

You will join the Safety & Compliance team based at RAF Brize Norton, becoming part of the support network for the A400M "Atlas"-the most advanced, proven, and certified airlifter available today. You will act as a critical part of the team supporting flight operations, maintaining safe aircraft and delivering armed forces projects globally.

Our team is responsible for managing the Quality and Safety Management Systems. We ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards, meet customer requirements, and incorporate industry best practices. Our goal is to implement a framework where Quality and Safety become cross-functional responsibilities, driving better standards across all teams within Airbus Military UK.

Requirements

Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:

• Studying towards a bachelor degree in Aerospace Engineering or equivalent for the whole duration of the placement
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace tools
• Understanding of data trending, analysis and general engineering practices
• Holding a full UK driving licence and having access to a car is beneficial for this location

SECURITY CLEARANCE:

You will be subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. You may also need to gain UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control, depending on the role.
