Job summary

Clacton County High School (CCHS) is seeking an inspirational Subject Leader for A‑Level Social Sciences to drive high standards and progress across KS5. The role is based at the Tendring Education Centre, with a January 2027 start date and a fixed-term commitment to delivering a broad, balanced curriculum.

The successful candidate will lead the Social Sciences department, contribute to strategic development, and ensure high-quality teaching and safeguarding across the sixth form.

Qualifications

• QTS required and experience in a secondary setting preferred.
• Strong commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding

Responsibilities

• Lead Social Sciences at KS5 with curriculum oversight and assessment responsibilities.

• Maintain high standards of behaviour and positive student conduct.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum plans and assessments.
• Provide professional leadership and mentoring within the Social Sciences team
