Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is assisting a vibrant secondary academy in Bath to recruit a Teacher of Psychology. The role is full-time and permanent, starting January, with a focus on delivering A-Level Psychology in the Social Sciences faculty.

You will teach Year 12–13, cover research methods, data analysis, and cognitive psychology while providing UCAS guidance and supporting extra-curricular Psychology activities and pastoral duties.

Qualifications

• QTS or PGCE/SCITT with UK teaching credentials.
• Honours degree in Psychology or closely related discipline.
• Proven ability to deliver positive A-Level Psychology outcomes.
• Deep knowledge of A-Level exam specifications and research methods.
• Enhanced DBS check on Update Service (or willingness to apply).

Responsibilities

• Teach engaging A-Level Psychology lessons for Year 12 and Year 13.
• Guide students in research methods, data analysis and essay responses.
• Prepare pupils for external exams (AQA/Edexcel) with mock marking and feedback.
• Assess, track and report Sixth Form progress with formal assessments.
• Support Psychology extra-curricular activities and UCAS guidance.
• Fulfill pastoral duties as Sixth Form Tutor, assisting with personal statements.
