A Level Biology Teacher – Birmingham

Location: Birmingham, West Midlands
Pay: £170 – £265 per day (PAYE)
Contract: Full-time | Long-term with potential for permanent appointment
Start Date: January 2026 or sooner

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate, knowledgeable teacher to deliver high-quality Biology lessons to motivated and high-achieving students. The Role

As part of the Science Department, you’ll play a key role in supporting the school’s tradition of academic success and innovation in teaching.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Teaching A Level Biology to KS5 and GCSE Science to KS3/4 students
  • Planning and delivering engaging, challenging lessons aligned with the AQA specification
  • Supporting students through exam preparation, coursework, and enrichment projects
  • Encouraging a love of science through experimentation, inquiry, and critical thinking
  • Contributing to departmental development, open evenings, and extracurricular STEM activities

You’ll work alongside a talented and supportive team of science educators who are passionate about both subject mastery and student wellbeing.

About You

  • A qualified Science or Biology Teacher (QTS or QTLS) with experience teaching A Level Biology
  • Confident in delivering complex scientific concepts with clarity and enthusiasm
  • Experienced in preparing students for AQA A Level Biology assessments
  • Passionate about helping able students stretch their knowledge beyond the curriculum
  • Collaborative, organised, and reflective in your teaching practice

ECTs with strong subject knowledge are encouraged to apply you’ll receive excellent support and mentoring from an experienced department.
