Job summary

A local council in London is seeking an experienced Azure CloudOps Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain resilient cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure. This role demands expertise in Service Reliability Engineering and Financial Operations, focusing on automation and proactive threat response while adhering to UK GDS standards. The position is for 6 months with a daily rate of £500-550 outside IR35.

Qualifications

• Experience with cloud infrastructure design and deployment on Microsoft Azure.
• Strong understanding of UK Government Digital Service (GDS) standards.
• Proficiency in developing and maintaining reusable IaC templates.

Responsibilities

• Define and monitor critical Service Level Indicators (SLIs).
• Lead technical responses for high-priority cloud incidents.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code templates.
• Implement proactive threat detection and automated security responses.
• Review resource sizing and enforce budget controls.
