Job summary

A leading IT Systems integrator is seeking a 3rd Line Engineer in Basingstoke. The role includes incident and problem management as well as monitoring messaging systems such as Nexor and Exchange. Candidates must be willing and eligible for SC and DV clearance. Strong knowledge and experience in protocols, scripting, and Solaris is required. The position offers a comprehensive compensation package including a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Incident management - Manage the incident to resolution.
  • Perform detailed investigations on ongoing Problem Records.
  • Monitor, investigate and fix problems with the Nexor X500 DSA.
  • Monitor, investigate and fix problems with the Exchange 2003 Messaging system.
  • Communicate and collaborate with the customer for end-user issues.

3rd Line Engineer - Solaris

£55k plus 3% bonus and 10% DV bonus and 10% Pension

Candidates must be willing and eligible to go through SC and DV clearance for this role

I am looking for an experienced 3rd Line Messaging Engineer for a client of mine who are a leading IT Systems integrator operating within the UK defence sector.

Your role will involve:

  • Incident management - Incident logging, triage and assignment on required toolsets. Manage the Incident to resolution. Keep the incident record updated in accordance with agreed WI. Escalate where necessary.
  • Problem management - Perform detailed and extensive investigations on any ongoing Problem Records. Collate data from various sources and provide expert analysis.
  • Monitor, investigate and fix any problems with the Nexor X500 DSA.
  • Monitor, investigate and fix any problems with the Exchange 2003 Messaging system.
  • Communicate and collaborate with the customer who is an intermediary to the end user
