Computacenter AG & Co. oHG is seeking a 3rd Line Build Management Engineer to enhance our client OS configuration and hardware validation processes in Hatfield. The role focuses on Windows client/server environments, security compliance, and ongoing build management in a secured onsite setting.

You will lead hardware certifications, evaluate new vendor images, and work closely with service teams to deliver reliable OS builds and ongoing improvements within a structured governance framework.

Formación

• The ideal candidate will have proven experience in Endpoint management, Cloud technologies & Virtualisation with strong Hardware integration skills.
• More than 3 years’ experience of installation and configuration of Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11, IoT & LTSC) and Windows Server (2019/2022/2025).
• Experience with MDT/SCCM/MECM and 2012; Azure training or certification; Windows 365; Hyper-V/Virtualisation technologies.

Responsabilidades

• End to end Hardware testing in a secured Build environment in Hatfield/Onsite.
• Scope, quote and implement non-standard project work (TRS).
• Collaborate with Service Management, customer representation, technical service lines.
• Project/service planning, reporting, escalation, and stakeholder management.
• Liaise and support Evergreen roll-outs.

Life on the team

The Build Management service provides means to simplify and manage our customer base client Operating System infrastructure by delivering regular build updates, introducing and maintaining hardware support, as well as managing client settings and user profiles. The service will also provide periodic assessments of the customer’s client estate against Computacenter’s technical standards for adopting best practice security configuration for Microsoft Windows 10 OS or later technology, in order to highlight any exceptions or deviations from the standards. We achieve this by using our mature and comprehensive standard process and tools.

What you’ll do

• You’ll be responsible for development and testing of customer Operating system configuration
• You’ll be responsible for new Hardware Certifications
• You’ll be responsible for introduction & assessment of new vendor level image
• You’ll be responsible for Security compliance reporting and configuration (CIS - Level1)
• End to end Hardware testing in a controlled secured Build environment in Hatfield / Onsite
• You’ll be responsible for scoping, quoting and implementing non-std project work - TRS
• Collaboration with Service Management, customer representation, technical service lines
• Project/Service planning, reporting, escalation, and stakeholder management
• Liaising & providing support to the Evergreen team for all on going Evergreen roll-outs

What you’ll need

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in Endpoint management, Cloud technologies & Virtualisation with strong Hardware integration skills. You will be a flexible and proactive team member who takes a pragmatic approach to challenges and workload. Using your time management and workload skills you will proactively plan your working week in line with your assignments, which will extend to assisting colleagues. You will also have the opportunity to help drive project work, service improvement, automation and maturity to the service. The following skillsets would be deemed essential to the role

More than 3 years’ experience of installation and configuration of the following Operating Systems:

Microsoft Windows operating systems (Windows 10,11, IOT & LTSC)

Windows Server (2019, 2022 & 2025)

Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) / SCCM / MECM / 2012 experience

Azure (training or any Certification)

Windows 365

Hyper-V / Virtualisation technologies

Installation and configuration of key business applications, i.e. Microsoft Office, Outlook etc.

Operating System Registry Hives & MSI technologies
