Job summary

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines is seeking a 3rd Engineer to manage daily operation of onboard technical systems, watchkeeping, and maintenance.

The ideal candidate holds STCW A-III/1 Eng Officer of the Watch, STCW Basic Training, Advanced Firefighting and PSCRB, and High Voltage Operator, with prior rank experience on cruise vessels. English fluency and the ability to work independently in a small team are essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold STCW code A-III/1 Engineering Officer of the Watch license, STCW basic Training, Advanced Firefighting and PSCRB, High Voltage Operator.
• Must have experience in rank, preferably on cruise vessels.
• Read, write and speak English clearly and distinctly.
• Be able to work independently and as an effective member of a small team.

Responsibilities

• Planned and emergency maintenance as required by Chief Engineer.

The 3rd Engineer is responsible for:

Daily operation of onboard technical systems;

Watchkeeping;

Planned and emergency maintenance as required by Chief Engineer.

Candidates must hold:

STCW code A-III/1 Engineering Officer of the Watch license;

STCW basic Training, Advanced Firefighting and PSCRB;

High Voltage Operator.

In addition, we would expect the candidate to:

Have experience in rank, preferably on cruise vessels;

Read, write and speak English clearly and distinctly;

Be able to work independently and as an effective member of a small team.

In return, we can offer you a competitive salary with a 4:2 work rotation of four months on board with two month’s leave, a single cabin with private facilities and flights to/from the vessel arranged and paid for by the company. This is an exciting opportunity to work on board our cruise ships, travelling to worldwide destinations.
