Job summary

Ashridge Court Care Centre, near Bexhill-on-Sea, is seeking a Chef to deliver high quality, nutritious meals for residents. You will take ownership of food preparation, ensure meals meet dietary needs, and maintain hygiene and food safety standards in a busy care kitchen.

This role offers a consistent day pattern with no late evenings or split shifts, training opportunities, and benefits including paid DBS, pension, and uniform.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or equivalent, or working towards.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Experience in a professional kitchen environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A positive and reliable approach.

Responsibilities

• Own food preparation and service, ensuring meals meet dietary needs and preferences.

Job description

Ashridge Court Care Centre is a bright, modern care home near Bexhill-on-Sea, set in the East Sussex countryside with sea views and peaceful gardens. The home provides high-quality general nursing care for up to 51 residents in spacious, well-furnished rooms, with compassionate support delivered with dignity, empathy and respect.

Chef Contract

• £13.55 per hour
• Contracted to 30 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As a Chef, you will deliver high quality, nutritious and enjoyable meals that are a key part of daily life. This is a role where your cooking has real impact, bringing comfort, routine and enjoyment while supporting overall wellbeing.

You will take ownership of food preparation and service, ensuring meals are tailored to individual dietary needs, preferences and nutritional requirements. Maintaining high standards of presentation, hygiene and food safety, you will consistently deliver meals that residents look forward to each day.

Working as part of a supportive team, you will contribute to menu planning, kitchen organisation and smooth day to day service.
