Job responsibilities
- Work directly with customers to analyse engineering challenges and identify where additive manufacturing technologies can deliver measurable gains
- Carry out demonstrations, sample prints and proof of concept projects using industrial 3D printing equipment
- Provide design for additive manufacturing (DfAM) advice: orienting parts, selecting materials and designing build strategies for optimum performance
- Prepare technical documents, detailed quotes and client presentations that clearly map out benefits, ROI and implementation plans
- Engage with engineering teams and decision makers internally at the client's site, driving adoption of new manufacturing workflows
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients while supporting proactive lead generation and new business opportunities
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop case studies, application stories and workshop content to showcase real client successes
- Attend industry trade shows, workshops and client visits to present technology solutions and represent the company as a subject matter expert
- Keep accurate records of all customer interactions, project status and CRM entries, ensuring alignment with internal goals
- Support internal training and continuous improvement initiatives, sharing best practices across the team
Experience required
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a closely related technical discipline
- 6 to 12 months (or more) working hands‑on with 3D printing or additive manufacturing technology, ideally including knowledge of polymer or composite systems
- Proven skills in problem solving and engineering analysis, with the ability to interpret a client's challenge and choose the right AM approach
- Comfortable giving technical presentations and walking engineers through complex workflows
- Strong computer literacy including CAD familiarity (for example SolidWorks, Creo or similar) and working knowledge of CRM systems for record keeping
- Able to work independently, organise your time across customer sites and internal tasks, and travel as required within the UK
- Full UK driving licence
