A healthcare provider is seeking a Senior Speech and Language Therapist to join the Adult SLT Team at Barnsley Hospital. In this role, you will assess, treat, and support patients with communication and swallowing difficulties while working collaboratively with a supportive team. Ideal candidates will have relevant qualifications and experience in a clinical setting, and will be committed to providing high quality clinical support. Training opportunities are available, and flexible working arrangements can be offered.
An exciting opportunity hasarisen for a Speech and Language Therapist to join the Adult SLT Team at Barnsley Hospital for 7.5 Hours per week. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated Speech and Language Therapist to further develop their knowledge and skills.
The successful candidate will work independently and with supervisory support alongside a friendly, open and supportive team. The successful candidate will provide assessment, treatment and intervention to patients with swallowing and/or communication difficulties. The position is rotational, covering inpatient medical wards, inpatient stroke, head and neck outpatients and voice outpatients.
The successful candidate will show enthusiasm and proactive contribution to the team’s expansion of SLT provision across Barnsley Hospital, as well as assisting in training other healthcare professionals in the hospital. We offer robust clinical supervision and support with further training opportunities.
To provide high quality clinical advice on the assessment, diagnosis and management of patients at BHNFT who have communication and/or swallowing difficulties, voice difficulties or head and neck cancer.
This could include those with complex needs, ENT outpatient clinics and inpatient critical care.
To provide support, education and advice to more junior SLTs, Assistants, nursing and AHP colleagues specifically in relation to patients with communication and swallowing difficulties and to ensure adequate access to the service is maintained for this client group.
To follow and contribute to the development of departmental policies/guidelines and to participate in the development of innovations in service delivery taking account of clinical governance.
