A prominent healthcare provider in Barnsley is seeking an enthusiastic Paediatric Diabetes Dietitian to lead the dietetic service within a multidisciplinary team. This full-time, 12-month fixed-term role involves managing the dietetic service for Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes patients, supervising staff, and conducting outpatient clinics. The ideal candidate will have extensive diabetes experience, a relevant degree, and strong leadership skills. An exciting opportunity has arisen for anenthusiastic and motivated Paediatric Diabetes Dietitian looking to join theNutrition and Dietetics team at Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
This fixed term postprovides an opportunity to work within the wider Paediatric Diabetes MDTservice in Barnsley, where you would work closely alongside Paediatric DiabetesSpecialist Nurses and Paediatric Diabetes Consultants. You Will clinically leadthe Paediatric Diabetes service for Dietetics within both the inpatient andoutpatient setting, working closely alongside the lead Paediatric Diabetes SpecialistNurse. This post therefore requires advanced knowledge and experience ofworking within Paediatric Diabetes.
You will work closely withand supervise the Band 6 Dietitian, and be part of a friendly dietetic team ofDietitians, Dietetic Assistants and supportive administrative staff.
This role is full time for 12 months fixed term/secondment opportunity,however part time applications will be considered.

The postholder will be thelead Dietitian for the Paediatric Diabetes service at Barnsley Hospital andwill work closely with the rest of the MDT. They will supervise and manage theBand 6 Dietitian within the service.
They will hold responsibilityfor own caseload and be responsible for the paediatric diabetes dieteticservice including both Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes patients up to the age of 19years, working within clearly defined operational policies and procedures.
They will see newly diagnosedpatients on the wards and provide Level 3 carbohydrate counting, and thenfollow up these patients in the community in a range of outpatient clinics,home visits, phone reviews and school visits. They will attend weekly MDT clinicsand have an active role in contributing in weekly MDT meetings.
They should be amotivated and enthusiastic individual with good time management skills and acommitment to evidence-based practice.
