Job summary

Haughton School in Madeley, Telford, is seeking a reliable Site Manager to handle the day-to-day management, security and maintenance of the school site. You will work with the School Business Manager, Headteacher and Caretaker to keep the site safe, secure and well‑presented across the year.

The role requires hands-on maintenance, scheduling contractors, supporting health and safety, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in a related subject or equivalent.
• Experience of minor building repairs and maintenance.
• Experience managing a building and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
• Good health and safety understanding.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Good IT skills, especially Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing security, opening and closing of the school site.
• Managing day-to-day maintenance, repairs and upkeep of the school and grounds.
• Coordinating and monitoring contractors on site.
• Supporting health and safety, fire safety and risk assessments.
• Carrying out regular site and safety inspections.
• Undertaking minor repairs and improvement projects.
• Operating site systems (heating, lighting, CCTV, alarms).
• Maintaining site records and PAT testing readiness.
• Support staff with low-level ICT issues.
• Collaborate with Caretaker and ensure grounds are safe and presentable.
