The Maria Montessori Institute is seeking Montessori Assistants to join our Children’s House Flex Team across Hampstead, Notting Hill and Bayswater. This bank cover role requires sharing monthly availability and being flexibly called on as needed, starting September 2026.

You will support transitions, care for the learning environment, and build strong relationships with children aged 3–6 under AMI guidance. This entry point provides growth opportunities within our community.

Qualifications

• AMI Montessori Diploma or AMI equivalent is required.
• Interest in Montessori for ages 3–6 and working across multiple sites.
• Eligibility to work in the UK; no sponsorship provided.

Responsibilities

• Present materials and supervise the environment with AMI teachers.
• Care for the environment and create learning materials.
• Support transitions to lunch and playtime in coordination with the team.
• Build warm, consistent relationships with children and colleagues to support development.

We are currently looking for Montessori Assistants to join our Children’s House (3–6) Flex Team as bank cover across our Hampstead, Notting Hill and Bayswater sites, from September 2026. Our Flex Team supports transitions and daily flow across our Children’s Houses. This role is bank cover – you’ll share your availability each month and be called on as needed. This is a genuine entry point into our community, with real opportunities to grow into further roles.

• Step into an environment as required to support the team and contribute to the smooth and safe running of the day: presenting materials, observing or overseeing the environment alongside experienced AMI teachers
• Care for the environment and create materials to support children’s learning
• Support children through transitions to lunch and playtime in collaboration with the teaching team
• Build warm, consistent relationships with children and colleagues, supporting each child’s development with care and respect

About You

• Has a Montessori Diploma (ideally AMI)
• Is genuinely interested in the Montessori approach and enjoys working with children aged 3–6
• Is warm, reliable and adaptable
• Is committed to safeguarding, equity and inclusion
• Can offer availability at short notice and is comfortable working flexibly across sites
• Has permission to work in the UK and will be able to commute regularly to North and West London. We don’t offer sponsorship.

Experience with young children is ideal, though we welcome applications from those earlier in their journey.
