Job summary

Wabtec Corporation in the United Kingdom is seeking a skilled painter/coater to prepare and coat manufactured parts for production, using a Graco spray system. You will inspect finishes and ensure uniform thickness, color and absence of defects.

Responsibilities include daily maintenance, assisting in 5S activities, and collaborating with team members to resolve production and quality issues. The role requires attention to detail and strong teamwork in an indoor manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of coating principles and practices; identify and correct defects such as fisheye, adhesion issues or rough coatings.
• Ability to set, read and evaluate measuring instruments like viscosity testers and thickness gauges.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and sketches and interpret specifications to ensure coating quality.
• Good listening and communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and coat manufactured parts for production.
• Operate Graco spray system to apply industrial paint finishes.
• Inspect painted units for runs, debris, fish eye, uncoated areas; ensure uniform thickness and color.
• Inspect and replace components on paint guns for optimal performance.
• Perform daily checks and maintenance; assist with 5S and cleaning procedures.
• Assist others in solving quality and production issues.
