Job summary

IT Answers in Liverpool is hiring a 2nd Line IT Support & Field Engineer to resolve escalated tickets, on-site installs and network deployments. This role blends office-based work with regular customer site travel.

You will work end-to-end on Windows, AD, DNS/DHCP, VPNs and cabling tasks, with driving required. Clear path toward a senior infrastructure or field-project role is offered, with a competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• 2nd-line support, infrastructure or MSP engineering experience
• Strong Windows troubleshooting + hands-on Microsoft 365 admin
• Active Directory, Group Policy, TCP/IP, DNS/DHCP/VPN/VLAN/firewall knowledge
• Experience installing and terminating Cat5e/Cat6 cabling and network kit
• Confidence attending sites independently, with strong customer-facing skills
• Full UK driving licence (essential)

Responsibilities

• Resolving escalated 2nd-line tickets — hardware, software, networking, M365, AD, DNS/DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, VLANs, Wi‑Fi
• Attending customer sites for reactive fixes, installs and infrastructure projects
• Installing/replacing PCs, printers, access points, switches, firewalls and routers
• Installing and terminating Cat5e/Cat6 cabling, patch panels and cabinets
• Keeping documentation, network diagrams and handover notes sharp
• Covering the field rota during busy periods, holidays and sickness

We need a 2nd Line IT Support & Field Engineer who's just as happy resolving escalated tickets as they are on-site terminating cable or installing a new network.

You’ll own problems end-to-end, work independently, and have real say in front of customers.

IT Answers has a growing UK technical team, with a clear path toward a senior infrastructure or field-project role.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Resolving escalated 2nd-line tickets — hardware, software, networking, M365, AD, DNS/DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, VLANs, Wi‑Fi
