Job summary

You will work with global teams to test, model and optimize metrology processes while contributing to IP and product-oriented outcomes. The role requires a PhD in physics, materials science or related fields and a track record of innovation,

Qualifications

• PhD awarded or due within 6 months in physics, electrical engineering or materials science.
• Strong background in metrology techniques for 2D materials.
• Experience identifying and characterising defects/contamination in 2D materials.
• Hands-on operation of advanced metrology tools and measurement interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop advanced metrology techniques for 2D materials.
• Drive innovation in nano-scale head devices focusing on performance and yield.
• Collaborate with metrology vendors to define and test next-generation tooling.
• Lead experiments, projects and wafer tracking to deliver timely results.
• Support technology transfers to product development engineering.
• Contribute to Seagate's IP portfolio (inventions, patents, publications).
