Due to continued growth, ADS Laser Cutting is seeking a highly motivated 2D / 3D Sheet Metal CAD Technician to join its expanding team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality, dimensionally accurate engineering drawings and CNC programs for the manufacture of sheet metal components in line with client orders and specifications.
Create accurate CAD/CAM profiles according to client requirements and orders.
Generate CNC programs from those profiles to maximize laser efficiency and material savings.
Produce manufacturing drawings for press, fabrication, and assembly operations.
Modify and update CAD/CNC files as required in a timely manner.
Maintain good housekeeping and ensure proper control and organization of programs.
Communicate professionally and effectively with clients regarding order requirements.
Create Bills of Materials (BOMs) for submission to the purchasing team to ensure all components are available for order completion.
Essential:
Strong understanding of 2D CAD software, preferably AutoCAD or TruTops.
Solid knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes and developments.
High proficiency in Microsoft Office/Office 365 applications, particularly Excel and Teams.
Ability to remain focused and maintain concentration throughout a project lifecycle.
High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Strong communication skills, both internally and externally.
Honest, positive attitude with flexibility towards procedural changes.
Desirable:
Experience with Trumpf CAM software (preferred but not essential).
Demonstrated critical thinking and innovative problem-solving skills.
Passion for delivering high-caliber work.

This position is 100% site-based.
Salary: £27,000 – £32,000 (DOE)
