Qualifications

Position Summary:

Due to continued growth, ADS Laser Cutting is seeking a highly motivated 2D / 3D Sheet Metal CAD Technician to join its expanding team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality, dimensionally accurate engineering drawings and CNC programs for the manufacture of sheet metal components in line with client orders and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create accurate CAD/CAM profiles according to client requirements and orders.

• Generate CNC programs from those profiles to maximize laser efficiency and material savings.

• Produce manufacturing drawings for press, fabrication, and assembly operations.

• Modify and update CAD/CNC files as required in a timely manner.

• Maintain good housekeeping and ensure proper control and organization of programs.

• Communicate professionally and effectively with clients regarding order requirements.

• Create Bills of Materials (BOMs) for submission to the purchasing team to ensure all components are available for order completion.

Skills, Experience & Personal Attributes:

Essential:

• Strong understanding of 2D CAD software, preferably AutoCAD or TruTops.

• Solid knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes and developments.

• High proficiency in Microsoft Office/Office 365 applications, particularly Excel and Teams.

• Ability to remain focused and maintain concentration throughout a project lifecycle.

• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Strong communication skills, both internally and externally.

• Honest, positive attitude with flexibility towards procedural changes.

Desirable:

• Experience with Trumpf CAM software (preferred but not essential).

• Demonstrated critical thinking and innovative problem-solving skills.

• Passion for delivering high-caliber work.

Additional Information:

• This position is 100% site-based.
