Job summary

NHS Lanarkshire is seeking experienced Occupational Therapists to join our frailty teams at University Hospital Hairmyres and University Hospital Monklands. You will deliver specialist input for older people living with frailty, focusing on early assessment, rehabilitation and safe discharge planning while applying home-first principles.

You will join a 7-day service with weekend and public holiday working. Full- or part-time hours will be considered.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse / AHP / Pharmacist with valid NMC/HCPC / GPHC Registration.
• Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level.
• Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced clinical practice and expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
• Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality.
• Advanced Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality.

• Autonomously assesses, diagnose and treats individuals with a range of acute, non acute and chronic presenting medical conditions across lifespan.
• Utilise advanced knowledge and highly specialist clinical skills in a range of settings to assess, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care to deliver high standard of care.
• Practice at all times within the Professional Codes of Conduct
• Conduct evidence based practice in accordance with clinical guidelines and standards.
• Manage own time to meet the various demands of the role, including clinical, educational and administrative elements.
• Develop and actively participate in research by working collaboratively with multidisciplinary and academic partners and other HEIs

The Role

AHP Frailty Practitioners (Band 7) - We are seeking experienced Occupational Therapists to join our frailty teams at both University Hospital Hairmyres and University Hospital Monklands.

You will deliver specialist input for older people living with frailty, focussing on early assessment, rehabilitation, and safe discharge planning whilst applying home first principles. In This Key Role, You Will
