Job summary

Tioxide Materials Ltd is seeking a Laboratory Shift Analyst to provide a 24/7 analytical service to plant teams, ensuring routine and non-routine testing is completed accurately, reliably and in a timely manner.

The role works in accordance with approved work instructions, quality and environmental management systems, supporting the production of safe, high-quality pigment through accurate analysis, timely reporting and effective laboratory control.

Qualifications

• Relevant scientific/engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience in a laboratory or analytical environment.
• Knowledge of quality and environmental management systems.
• Understanding of analytical test methods and lab techniques.
• Ability to interpret and report results accurately and promptly.
• Identify out-of-spec results and escalate trends appropriately.
• Commitment to lab safety and COSHH requirements.
• Ability to work a 24/7 shift pattern and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Complete routine and non-routine analytical testing and sample preparation.
• Maintain laboratory safety, housekeeping, and COSHH compliance.
• Interpret, record and report analysis results with timely escalation.
• Manage samples, liaise with plant teams to collect and receive samples.
• Develop knowledge of processes, methods and laboratory techniques.
• Care for and maintain laboratory equipment, including calibration.
• Review and improve laboratory documents and procedures.
• Support waste management and sustainability requirements.
