Job summary

VIVO Defence Services is seeking a Mechanical or Electrical Engineer to keep critical systems operational 24/7 at RAF Menwith Hill, Harrogate. The role involves shift work, maintenance of utilities, and coordination with contractors to ensure safety and uninterrupted service.

You will monitor CMMS data, develop SOPs, manage spares, and maintain compliance with MOD safety standards. DV vetting and a driving license are required.

Qualifications

• ONC or Level 3 NVQ in electrical engineering.
• 3+ years of professional experience in electrical/ mechanical engineering.
• Emergency First Aid at Work certification and a valid CAT B driving license.
• Within two years, obtain appointment as AP Electrical.
• EngTech status is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 24/7 rotating shift system to maintain critical utilities.
• Monitor and operate critical infrastructure via CMMS; coordinate actions.
• Manage contractors and in-house staff per SOPs and documentation.
• Assess Planned Maintenance effectiveness and report deficiencies.
• Develop and maintain Engineering Operating Procedures for FCC systems.
• Manage emergency spares and generator fuel supplies.
• Review SOPs and participate in training and exercises to ensure readiness.
• Act as duty Authorized Person Electrical during shifts and ensure safety compliance.
