A healthcare organization in Scotland is seeking an enthusiastic individual for a paediatric audiology role. You will support children and families while performing diagnostic hearing assessments and contributing to service improvements. This position offers a supportive team environment ideal for new graduates to further develop their skills. The work is conducted at a renowned Children's Hospital in Edinburgh, with a full-time commitment of 37 hours per week, aligning with NHS Scotland's initiatives for a reduced working week.

This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/record. The Children's Hearing service at NHS Lothian is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the paediatric audiology team in an exciting role where you will support children their families. This is a ideal opportunity to develop your paediatric skills with a supportive team.
The post involves working alongside existing paediatric audiologists and assistant staff at a purpose‑built Children’s Hospital in the beautiful, historic city of Edinburgh.
If you are a new graduate, we can offer a strong supportive start to your paediatric audiology career, where you can consolidate your academic learning in a friendly, progressive and inclusive team.
The post holder will support the service clinically carrying out paediatric diagnostic hearing assessments in the ENT clinic and with children over the age of 4 years.
Clinical duties will include delivering high levels of care to the service’s patients via face‑to‑face appointments at The Royal Hospital for Children and Young People and at the Lauriston Hospital.
Service improvement and development are central to the vision for forward the paediatric audiology service provision at NHS Lothian. Other services that the team undertake include diagnostic testing of children aged 0 – 18 years of age to include ABR, ASSR, Visual Reinforcement Audiometry, Performance Audiometry, Pure Tone Audiometry, TEAOE testing, Otoscopy and Tympanometry.
We undertake the fitting of hearing aids for all ages and we have an established national microtia service where we participate in the fitting of implantable devices.
Service improvements duties which include contributions to SOPs, patient information audit and quality improvement.
A vision for quality improvement is strongly advised.
The service currently runs clinics Monday to Friday between the hours of 08.00 and 18.00 with the expectation of working 37 hours between these times. There is a NHS Scotland initiative to have a reduced working week of 36 hours by 2026 with no salary impact.
