A healthcare organization is seeking a Specialist Biomedical Scientist (Band 6) to join the Bacteriology Laboratory at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. The ideal candidate will have HCPC registration and significant experience in Bacteriology, along with an IBMS Specialist Diploma in Microbiology. This role expects participation in a 24/7 working system, offering an opportunity for continuing professional development.

The Royal Infirmary Edinburgh Department of Laboratory Medicine Infection Science (Bacteriology) Specialist Biomedical Scientist (Band 6) Applications are invited from suitably experienced and motivated individuals to fill the role of Specialist Biomedical Scientist. We are looking for HCPC registered Biomedical Scientists with significant Bacteriology experience that have completed their IBMS Specialist Diploma in Microbiology.
For applicants applying for Band 6 Annex 21, these candidates, if successful, will be required to complete their Specialist Portfolio and the schedule of in-house training provided within the agreed time scale prior to progression to Band 6 and the salary will be paid at Annex 21 of the A4C Terms & Conditions. The posts are based in the Bacteriology Laboratory within the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. Participation in the 24/7 working system is expected.
