Job summary

A leading health service provider in Scotland seeks an inspirational Senior Psychiatric Nursing Leader. Ideal candidates should have an RMN qualification or equivalent, post-registration experience in acute mental health, and be willing to obtain PVG Scheme membership.

Job Description

This post is for an inspirational senior psychiatric nursing leader who will plan, deliver and evaluate high‑quality psychiatric care for patients and clients, both during regular hours and in crisis situations. The role also involves managing shift workflow, supervising staff, providing education and support, and liaising with other services.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive psychiatric nursing care, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
  • Respond to crisis situations and coordinate appropriate assistance from medical and other professionals.
  • Ensure smooth running of the shift and manage workload and workforce.
  • Liaise with other services and disseminate relevant information.
  • Provide education and support to junior staff and contribute to team development.
  • Maintain PVG Scheme membership and secure Disclosure Scotland clearance.
Qualifications
  • RMN qualification or equivalent.
  • Post‑registration experience in acute mental health, with risk assessment experience.
  • Formal post‑registration qualification desirable.
  • PVG Scheme membership or willingness to obtain it.
