A Scottish healthcare provider is seeking an experienced neonatal nurse/midwife for their neonatal unit. Responsibilities include leading care programs, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring high-quality care for babies and parents. The role requires a Neonatal Qualification in Specialty and a passion for improving health. This position is fixed-term until May 31, 2026.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced neonatal nurse / midwife to join the bank on the neonatal unit. Our modern and friendly Neonatal unit consists of 2 ITU/HDU and 7 Special care cots. The postholder must be Neonatal Qualified in Specialty. The postholder will have responsibility for assessment of care needs, the development of programmes of care and the implementation and evaluation of these programmes, ensuring the delivery of the highest quality of care to babies and their parents / carers. The post holder will support the ward manager in the day to day running of the ward. The post holder will be required to provide leadership on a shift by shift basis to ensure effective and safe operation of the department. The post holder will mentor junior staff (registered nurses/non-registered nurses and learners), who will also require support and supervision. The post holder has responsibility and accountability for maintaining both clinical and staff governance and may be required to work within any of the Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary areas particularly, but not exclusively, paediatrics and maternity units.
The candidate should possess passion for improving the health and wellbeing of our babies and families; enthusiasm to embrace change; resilience when working with complex families and be required to work to ensure effective service delivery.
This post is fixed term until 31 May 2026.
