Accountable to the Service Director for the strategic leadership & operational delivery of Acute and Community based Children’s services within the W&C Directorate, ensuring safe delivery of patient care and services in accordance with NHS Lothian agreed corporate objectives. This includes focusing on delivery of scheduled and unscheduled care and working to established access and treatment time standards.

Support the achievement of NHS Lothian targets and objectives by developing key relationships to enable collaborative working with internal and external partners, ensuring a cohesive approach to patient care and then appropriate and timely discharge.

Contribute to the Senior Management Team across W&C providing leadership and visibility and supporting the planned and unplanned workflows associated with running both acute and community based services.

Acts as the deputy for the Service Director in all aspects of Scheduled and Unscheduled Care within Children’s Services, leading discussions and decision making at director level.
