Job summary

A&L Goodbody LLP invites applications for its 2027 Trainee Solicitor Programme in Belfast. Trainees will rotate across key departments including Corporate, Disputes & Investigations, Finance and Real Estate.

We look for candidates with a drive to excel as lawyers, strong academic achievement, and relevant experience in the legal sector. An undergraduate law degree is not a prerequisite, but evidence of core modules and commitment to a legal career is expected.

Qualifications

• Evidence of high academic achievement and relevant experience in the legal sector.
• Candidates should demonstrate the core law modules required by the relevant body if pursuing IPLS.
• Strong intellectual ability, judgement and commercial awareness are essential.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for our 2027 Trainee Solicitor Programme. As a Trainee Solicitor you'll have the opportunity to discover which areas of law interest and engage you most. Some people are born litigators, others love the dynamics of a commercial deal and some absorb themselves in employment law or restructuring. Our Trainee Solicitor Programme is designed to encourage and develop every person's unique qualities.

All of our Trainee Solicitors work within our main departments:

• Corporate
• Disputes & Investigations
• Finance
• Real Estate

Requirements

We are looking for candidates who have the drive to succeed as top class lawyers and become future leaders of our firm. Whilst an undergraduate degree in law is not a prerequisite, candidates need to demonstrate academic achievement and experience relevant to a career in the legal sector. Candidates intending on following the IPLS route will also need to evidence that they have completed the core law modules required by Law Society of Northern Ireland.
