Risk Quantitative Analytics (Risk QA)

As a Graduate in Risk Quantitative Analytics (Risk QA), you will join a group of specialised modellers and developers powering Barclay’s ability to manage financial risk. From day one, you’ll be part of a team that uses statistical methods, AI techniques, and coding strategies to build the tools and models Barclays uses to make big decisions. Along the way, you’ll collaborate with colleagues across risk, finance, global markets, and technology - gaining exposure to how different parts of the business come together to navigate market shifts and meet regulatory demands.

To be considered for this opportunity, you'll be motivated with a strong degree or expected degree achieved before June 2027.

You’ll have strong mathematical and programming skills, ideally in C/C++ or Python, along with logical thinking, creative problem solving and strong communication skills.

Purpose of the role

Bringing quantitative and analytical expertise to bear across the full spectrum of our Markets and Risk businesses. Our Early Careers colleagues are expected to play an important role in the design and development of risk management and trading strategies, through the use of quantitative analysis, mathematical modelling, and technology, with the aim of optimising trading processes, development practices, systems and infrastructure as well as identifying growth and investment opportunities.

Accountabilities
  • Develop and implement quantitative models and strategies to enhance decision-making, pricing, and risk management.
  • Design and maintain high-performance trading platforms and risk systems, integrating new features to improve reliability and user experience.
  • Conduct research and data analysis to uncover market trends and drive innovation through advanced methodologies and technologies.
  • Collaborate with traders, sales teams, and stakeholders in Risk and Finance to deliver customised solutions and translate business needs into scalable tech tools.
  • Work cross-functionally with compliance, IT, and strategy teams to resolve system issues and continuously improve trading infrastructure.
