Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking graduates to join our Asset Design teams in 2027. You will help shape water and wastewater infrastructure from early optioneering through to design and commissioning, working across civil, mechanical, electrical and process engineering.

You will be part of multidisciplinary teams, developing sustainable solutions, assessing options, and learning how assets perform across their lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Will have, or be on track to achieve, at least a 2:2 in a relevant bachelor's or master's degree.
  • Start date September 2027.
  • Interest in water and wastewater infrastructure, asset design and sustainable engineering.
  • Curious, collaborative and motivated to solve technical challenges.
  • Enjoy sharing ideas and learning from multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Balance technical, commercial, environmental and stakeholder needs.
  • Keen to learn, build skills and take ownership of development.

Responsibilities

  • Assist across optioneering through to design and commissioning of water and wastewater infrastructure.

This is an opportunity to work in a leading engineering and professional services consultancy, helping shape sustainable water and wastewater infrastructure from early optioneering through to design and commissioning, so communications remain safe, resilient and thriving.

A little bit more about your role and the team…

As a Graduate in our Asset Design team, you will help create water and wastewater infrastructure that keeps communities safe, resilient and thriving. Working across civil, structural, mechanical, electrical instrumentation, energy and process engineering, you will support projects from early optioneering through to design and commissioning, helping deliver sustainable solutions that make a real difference.

You will work in multidisciplinary teams on real-world projects, helping to assess options, develop designs, support construction and commissioning, and consider how assets will perform throughout their lifecycle.

By challenging assumptions and refining options, we help clients make risk-based decisions that champion no-build and low-build solutions wherever possible, reducing environmental impact while delivering long-term value for communities and clients.
