Job summary

WSP is seeking graduates for its Planning Consultancy and Infrastructure Planning teams for 2027. You will help clients navigate the planning system, support multidisciplinary projects, and contribute to sustainable place making and major infrastructure delivery.

Join a two-year Graduate Development Programme with structured learning, mentoring and hands-on project experience, working across the UK&I with opportunities in Exeter and other cities.

Qualifications

• 2:2 in a relevant master’s degree or better.
• Interest in planning, development, regeneration, infrastructure, policy, consents or engagement.
• Curious, analytical and motivated to support sustainable places and major infrastructure.
• Willing to learn, take ownership and grow across planning and infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

We are looking for graduates to join our Planning Consultancyor Infrastructure Planning teams in 2027. This is an opportunity to work in a leading engineering and professional services consultancy, supporting clients to understand what is possible, navigate the planning system and bring forward places that respond to local needs.

Infrastructure Planning: Exeter, Edinburgh/Glasgow and Birmingham

A little bit more about your role and the team…

As a Graduate in our Planning Consultancy or Infrastructure Planning teams, you’ll help clients navigate the planning system and bring forward sustainable places and infrastructure that respond to local needs.

You will support multidisciplinary projects across areas such as housing, mixed-use development, regeneration, social infrastructure, rail, energy, utilities and transport. From policy research and planning strategy to stakeholder consultation, consent applications and project delivery, you’ll build your understanding of the planning process while contributing to practical advice that helps deliver successful development and major infrastructure projects.

What We’re Looking For

• You will be looking to start work in September 2027.
• You will be interested in planning, development, regeneration, infrastructure, policy, consents or engagement.
