Hoare Lea, a leading UK building engineering consultancy, invites applications for a Graduate Mechanical Engineer. You will be exposed to live projects across healthcare, hotels, retail and residential sectors from day one.

You’ll work on HVAC systems, CAD/Revit modelling, site surveys and CPD under mentorship to support Chartership. The role emphasises teamwork and a flexible, resilient approach within a hybrid working environment.

Qualifications

• 2:1+ Mechanical Engineering degree or an equivalent qualification.
• IMechE or CIBSE accredited degree is preferred.
• Strong communication, analytical and organisational skills required.

Responsabilités

• Assist in producing detailed mechanical designs and drawings.
• Work on Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning systems.
• Contribute to site surveys and on-site investigations.
• Utilise CAD and Revit for modelling and documentation.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on live projects.

The Role

Bispebjerg Hospital in Denmark, Canolfan Pentre Awel in Carmarthen, One Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester, Multi-Megawatt Data Centre Campus, the vast £1billion Elephant and Castle redevelopment in London, are examples of some of the amazing projects where we have led the design with other Hoare Lea disciplines.

As a Graduate Mechanical Engineer

Your day-to-day tasks will vary, as we’ll expose you to all aspects of our work so you can discover what suits you. You could be:

• Working on live projects from day one – our exciting projects
• In a variety of sectors from healthcare to hotels, retail to residential
• Producing detailed designs and drawings for work including but not limited to :
• Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Control Systems
• Above and below ground drainage systems and hot and cold-water services to standard, budget and deadline.
• Using the latest computer modelling software CAD and Revit
• Undertaking site surveys
• Researching ground-breaking technologies
• Continuous CPD and learning opportunities

Communicating will span all of these, as we regularly liaise with project teams, meet clients or end users, and attend collaborative meetings.

About You

To be successful in this role, you’ll need…

• An expected or achieved 2.1 or above IMechE or CIBSE accredited degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills
• Ability to work in a team environment and independently
• A friendly, ambitious and confident individual with a flexible and resilient approach.

A Masters or other relevant post graduate qualification

Previous placement or work experience in a similar industry

An understanding of CAD or similar modelling software
