Job summary

Macquarie invites you to join our Graduate Internal Audit programme, designed to build understanding of our businesses, risk profile, and control environment through exposure across the audit lifecycle.

You will work with stakeholders, develop commercial insight, and contribute to clear, well-supported conclusions and recommendations while rotating through four Internal Audit teams over twelve months.

Qualifications

• Final-year undergraduate or master's student graduating Jan–Jul 2027.
• Studying Data Science, Technology, a quantitative, modelling or behavioural science discipline, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, Commerce, Law or a related field.
• Analytical thinker who can review information critically and communicate clearly.
• Team player with strong stakeholder relationships.
• Demonstrate accountability and integrity in your work.

Responsibilities

• Support audits across the lifecycle, from understanding business processes through testing controls and forming conclusions.
• Engage with senior stakeholders to understand processes, challenge control design and develop commercial insight.
• Execute audit testing by analysing evidence and data and assess whether controls operate effectively.
• Apply professional judgement to identify themes and provide clear, well-supported recommendations.
• Participate in two six-month rotations across Internal Audit teams and gain broad exposure.

What role will you play?

As a graduate in Internal Audit, you'll build your understanding of Macquarie's businesses, risk profile and control environment while contributing to audits across the organisation. You'll work with stakeholders across our business and support teams, develop commercial insight, examine evidence and data, and contribute to clear, well-supported conclusions and recommendations.

Depending on your individual role, you could be:

• supporting audits across the lifecycle, from understanding business processes and risks through to testing controls and contributing to conclusions
• engaging with senior stakeholders across business and support teams to understand processes, challenge control design and develop commercial insight
• executing audit testing by analysing evidence, reviewing data and assessing whether controls are operating effectively
• applying professional judgement to evaluate risks, identify themes and form clear, well-supported conclusions and recommendations
• helping shape audit issues that support strong governance, risk management and business outcomes through independent assurance and risk insight
• working with Internal Audit colleagues across portfolios, regions and specialist risk areas, gaining exposure to a broad range of Macquarie businesses

During this twelve-month programme, you'll complete two six-month rotations, with exposure to four Internal Audit teams. You'll be encouraged to examine problems from every angle, challenge the status quo and come up with new and innovative ways of progressing our business while being supported by an inclusive team.

As a graduate, you will:

• Take part in an orientation to learn about Macquarie business groups, with your fellow analysts and expand your professional network.
• Receive formal training, including technical training and presentation skills, but at its core the programme provides practical on-the-job learning to further your career. If you have ideas that have merit, we'll give you the opportunity to develop and test them to create new possibilities.
