Goldman Sachs in Birmingham is launching the 2027 Athletes Programme, a 10-week paid placement designed to pathway athletes into the firm. It broadens Returnship and Veterans Integration Programme to include sports professionals, offering exposure to day-to-day activities and mentorship.

The programme runs Jan 11, 2027 to Mar 19, 2027 with locations in London and Birmingham, providing hands-on experience and opportunities to connect with senior leaders across GS.

Qualifications

• Athletes who competed at regional/national/international level for at least 24 months.
• Retired from sport for at least 24 months as of January 11, 2025.

2027 Athletes Programme - Birmingham

We are pleased to announce that applications for our EMEA Athletes Programme have now opened. This programme is a pathway for professionals seeking a tailored route into the firm to start their next chapter. New for 2027 we have broadened our talent pipelining for professionals to include athletes alongside career breakers and military leavers. This new initiate is a strategic realignment of our existing Returnship® and Veterans Integration Programme, expanding our reach to professionals from non-traditional backgrounds. Across this 10-week paid placement, professionals will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the firms day-to-day activities. Professionals will be able to utilise our vast resources, connecting with senior leaders and mentorship opportunities throughout.
