Job summary

A prominent financial institution in the UK offers the UpLIFTED Women in Finance Development programme for female first-year undergraduate students. This selective four-month programme provides mentorship, skills development workshops, and insights into the finance industry. Eligible candidates must be enrolled in a related degree, self-identify as women, and demonstrate a passion for capital markets and corporate banking. Participants will engage in practical workshops and 1-on-1 sessions to enhance their career pathways.

About the Program

Explore develop and ignite your passion for the world of Finance. Scotiabank’s UpLIFTED Women in Finance Development programme is a selective four‑month programme designed for female‑identifying first‑year students (or second‑years on a four‑year degree) with an interest in finance. The programme supports and develops women early in their academic career by providing exposure, insights and opportunities to learn about finance from experienced professionals. The focus is on upskilling students on and increasing knowledge of our Global Capital Markets and Corporate Banking business lines.

The development programme will run from the beginning of January 2026 to the end of April 2026. During the programme participants will be assigned a mentor, have access to targeted workshops, and have the opportunity to participate in candid discussions about what it means to be a woman in finance.

Participants will also have regular 1‑on‑1 sessions with their mentors and Scotiabank career advisors.

Programme Eligibility

We are seeking highly motivated individuals who are interested in learning and development opportunities within Global Banking. Candidates must:

  • Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree in the UK in any discipline.
  • Be a current first‑year student on a three‑year degree or second‑year student on a four‑year degree.
  • Self‑identify as a woman.
  • Have a demonstrated passion for and interest in learning about capital markets / corporate banking and finance.
  • Be able to attend regular mentor meetings and programme workshops for the duration of the 4‑month programme (Jan – Apr 2026).
