We are looking for Graduates for our Building Specialists teams, who have a flexible approach and an appetite to learn in a leading Engineering and Professional Advisory services consultancy. Working as a Graduate in one of our Building Specialists teams, will mean working on exciting and innovative projects. Our Fire Engineering team is involved in the development of the overall fire strategy for a building, which involves the design of fire protection systems within buildings including means of escape, building layout, smoke control, sprinkler systems, reaction to fire of construction materials,
Working as a Graduate in our Fire Engineering team, you will be helping to protect buildings and occupants from the effects of fire and smoke by ensuring buildings are designed in line with Part B of the Building Regulations (fire safety). This is achieved by following relevant code guidance to produce fire strategy documents and other technical reports to demonstrate a building’s compliance or coming up with specific fire engineered solutions where following code guidance may not be feasible.
Day-to-day activities could include:
The Security Consulting team design and implement solutions that protect people, property and infrastructure from physical threats. The projects we deal with are iconic, groundbreaking and bring different challenges everyday. We engage with the end clients, users and police services to ensure safer places to live and work in this time of global unrest. Our projects are global enhancing the overall reach of WSP so differing standards and local risks inform the measures proposed and provided therefore not all projects are the same with a diverse range of sectors within the working portfolio such as Defence, Government, sports, transportation and data Centres.
Day-to-day activities could include:
Terrorism and Security. Politics, Security and International studies. International relations and Politics, International Security studies. Crime and Security Science and Electronic and Electrical Engineering.
Façade Engineering covers the design of building envelopes and encompasses a multitude of skill sets such as structural engineering, environmental design, sustainability, acoustics, fire engineering, materials technology, manufacturing processes, prototype testing and site installation. The façade package is a key element on any given project and typically amounts to some 30% of the build cost. As a Façade Engineer, you will be working closely with signature architects, developers, and contractors on a broad range of projects from concept through to construction.

We are looking for a Graduate Engineer to join our Blast Engineering team. Our Blast Engineering team provide specialised blast engineering services in support of all the major multi‑disciplinary projects of the business and is also uniquely positioned to offer independent and unbiased technical advice directly to end clients.

MSc or MEng Civil Engineering with a focus on any of the following: Structural Dynamics, Hydrocode Modelling, Dynamic non‑linear finite element analysis, blast engineering.
Energy Solutions is WSP’s heat networks business. Heat networks are a significant component of the UK’s strategy to achieve Net Zero carbon emissions by 2050, and our Energy Solutions team specialise in their evaluation, engineering and supervising their construction.
