Job description

L'Oréal sells 50 products every second worldwide, a testament to our global reach and consumer connection. As a Business Development Intern, you'll be instrumental in growing our five main product categories: haircare, hair colour, fragrances, cosmetics, and skincare. The Business Development Team strengthens the vital relationship between retailer and supplier, fostering greater collaboration to exchange information, share data, and collectively build category growth. This role offers significant exposure to both our Sales and Marketing teams, providing ample opportunities to develop your project management skills, test your communication, efficiency, coordination, and interpersonal abilities, with a strong emphasis on managing your own projects.

Project Ownership

In this role, you will be empowered to think of unique ways to improve our product categories and communicate these effectively to retailers. You'll take ownership of initiatives aimed at enhancing category performance, contributing to the broader brand strategy, and identifying opportunities for growth in the market.

Day-to-Day you will
  • Support the team by generating reports and recommendations on how we can continue to grow our categories.
  • Build strong relationships with both Marketing and Commercial teams.
  • Build reports to help the team understand what is happening in the external market.
  • Undertake competitor analysis and help to feed new ideas into the wider brand strategy.
  • Help suggest improvements in reporting/process which can help the team be more efficient.
What does success look like
  • Strategic Contribution: Providing valuable reports and recommendations that actively contribute to category growth and market understanding.
  • Relationship Building: Successfully fostering strong, collaborative relationships with internal Marketing and Commercial teams.
  • Process Improvement: Identifying and suggesting practical improvements in reporting and processes that enhance team efficiency.
To be successful, you will need to have
  • Strong interpersonal skills and management potential.
  • An ability to work within tight deadlines.
  • Organisation skills, proactivity, and the ability to plan effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail with high levels of accuracy.
  • A logical, solutions-focused mindset.
  • Strong analytical skills.

You must be in your second year at University on a course which enables you to take an Industrial Placement Year (unfortunately, if you are graduated, you are not eligible).
