Job summary

St Elizabeth’s Centre is hiring a Specialist Learning Support Assistant for the Much Hadham site. You will provide dedicated 2:1 support to pupils throughout the day, helping them engage in learning and build independence within a calm, structured environment.

The role involves working with teachers and therapists to deliver tailored support, including personal care when needed, in a nurturing, values-led setting. Term-time only, with 36 weeks per year.

Qualifications

• No prior school experience required, but the right mindset is essential.
• Calm and patient approach when supporting learners.
• Ability to work with children needing additional support.
• Collaborates with teachers, therapists and the wider team.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 2:1 support to pupils during the school day.
• Help learners engage in education, build confidence and independence.
• Use agreed strategies to support emotional regulation and behaviour.
• Maintain a calm, structured and predictable learning environment.
• Assist with transitions between activities and throughout the day.
• Collaborate with teachers and therapists to deliver tailored support.
• Provide personal care when required, with dignity and respect.
