Job summary

A leading UK training provider is seeking a passionate individual for the position of 1st Line Support Technician in York. You will join the Digital team, managing IT support tickets and providing hardware and software assistance. The ideal candidate has experience in Windows and Mac OS, solid communication skills, and is highly organized. This role offers a competitive salary of £26,500 pa and includes the opportunity for travel between various office locations.

Qualifications

  • Good communication skills are essential.
  • Experience with Windows & Mac OS is required.
  • Knowledge of Unix/Linux is preferable.

Responsibilities

  • Capture, manage, and complete IT support tickets.
  • Answer phones and provide support, including remote desktop support.
  • Conduct research, quoting, and ordering of IT equipment.
  • Update and maintain IT equipment and networks.
  • Handle drop-off and pick-up of equipment and supplies.
  • Perform fault finding and diagnostics.
  • Maintain and upgrade hardware.
  • Manage user accounts across various systems.
  • Conduct QA testing of new systems.

Skills

Good communication skills; both verbal and written
Extremely organised
Experience in Windows & Mac OS

They are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate person to join their Digital team as a 1st Line Support Technician.

As the 1st Line Support Technician, you will work on a variety of projects with a small team allows team members to get involved and make a real difference in the company.

Key Responsibilities of the 1st Line Support Technician:
  • Capturing, managing and completing IT support tickets
  • Answering phone and providing support (can be remote desktop support)
  • Research/Quoting/Ordering of IT equipment
  • Updating and maintenance of IT equipment and networks
  • Drop-off/Pick-up of equipment and supplies for multiple-departments
  • Fault finding and diagnostics
  • Hardware maintenance & upgrades
  • Managing user accounts across various systems
  • QA Testing of new systems
Skills & Experience of the 1st Line Support Technician:

Overview of The Role of the 1st Line Support Technician:

Hours Mon-Thu 8:45 to 5:30, Fri 8:45 to 5:00 with a 1-hour lunch break.

Role to be based at their York Head Office. Trips to their Slough and Livingston branches will also be required to ensure that systems are up-to-date and in good working order.
