Job description

Trident Maritime Systems UK, is a British company, based in Poole, Dorset. We’re a global provider of Engineering Solutions worldwide. Proudly serving 45+ Navies across the globe.

We are seeking a 1st / 2nd Line IT Support Engineer to join our team.

Based in Poole, we require a hands‑on and proactive 1st / 2nd Line IT Support Engineer to support our manufacturing operations.

This internal‑facing role is critical to ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems across both office and production environments. You will be the first point of contact for IT related issues, resolving day‑to‑day technical problems, supporting end‑users, and assisting with infrastructure maintenance across the site.

Responsibilities
  • Provide 1st and 2nd line technical support to office staff, engineering teams and production floor users.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and network issues across desktops, laptops, tablets, production terminals and barcode scanners.
  • Set up and configure new IT equipment including PCs, printers, label printers and handheld scanners.
  • Support and maintain Windows‑based PCs and shop floor systems.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot network connectivity across the site (LAN/Wi‑fi).
  • Administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange, Teams, OneDrive, Intune and SharePoint.

Whilst collaborating with all stakeholders including production and engineering this requires a highly self‑motivated person with the flexibility and willingness to undertake various responsibilities and work on own initiative.

If you have that ‘roll‑up‑sleeves’ attitude we would welcome your application.

Ideally you will have three years plus experience, or perhaps you have just finished your apprenticeship and are seeking the next career step.

We will endeavour to respond to all applications but this is not always possible. We take this opportunity to thank you for your application.
