Full time, 35 hours per week
Fixed-Term Contract up to 12 months
We are looking for a highly motivated research technician to work on epigenetic transposon silencing in the germline. Specifically, we seek to build upon our recent advancements in understanding the mechanism of piRNA-directed transposon methylation (1-4). A major goal of the laboratory is to explore these mechanisms in vivo and through biochemical as well as structural approaches. You will be part of the O’Carroll group located the Centre for Cell Biology, University of Edinburgh. Applicants must have, or shortly obtain a bachelor’s degree. The post requires experience in germ cell research and molecular biology. A working knowledge of the germline is essential.
