About this job

The work of the Women’s Estate Psychology Service (WEPS) spans core forensic work: completion of complex risk assessments along with therapeutic intervention work, consultancy, training & research, as well as a broad range of safety-related work within women’s prisons, and as women transition back into the community.

This is an exciting opportunity to join WEPS and assist in the development of Building Choices delivery to women in custody.

You will fulfil the role of clinical consultant, ensuring that those delivering the programme are supported in their clinical decision making and supervision.

This role will be across the two sites named, with the post holder expected to be based at one but with regular travel to the other site.

The post holder will also have the opportunity to engage in core forensic work and the delivery of safety work as this is a key aspect of the role at any women’s prison.

This will include the collaborative development of strengths-based plans based on psychological formulations which are designed to be a multiagency way of supporting staff to support women in custody and through into the community more effectively.
