Full Time - 35hrs per week.

The Opportunity

Two positions are available within the Carbon-Loop Sustainable Biomanufacturing Hub (C-Loop)’s BioFactory to lead bioprocess optimisation and scale-up activities. Working in close collaboration with our academic researchers, industry partners and UK scale-up facilities, you will play a pivotal role in advancing bio-upcycling technologies from early-stage development through to industrial application.

This post is advertised as full-time (35 hours per week), however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.

Responsibilities

Lead bioprocess optimisation and scale-up activities within the BioFactory, collaborating with academic researchers, industry partners and UK scale-up facilities to advance bio-upcycling technologies from early-stage development to industrial application.

Qualifications / Skills
  • Experience translating small-scale microbial bioprocesses into bioreactors
  • Experience in microbial fermentation process optimisation
  • Experience in upstream and downstream processing
  • Experience in the use of analytical chemistry techniques to detect fermentation end-products
