11270– 32‑hour Trainee Counter Assistant – Permanent Contract

We are looking to recruit a 32‑hour Trainee Counter Assistant on a permanent contract to work at our branch located at Freshney Green Primary Care Centre, Sorrell Road, Grimsby, DN34 4GB.

The proposed shift pattern is as follows:

  • Monday 09:00 – 18:00 (one‑hour unpaid break)
  • Tuesday 09:00 – 18:00 (one‑hour unpaid break)
  • Wednesday 09:00 – 18:00 (one‑hour unpaid break)
  • Friday 09:00 – 18:00 (one‑hour unpaid break)

The role for a trainee counter assistant will be under the supervision of the pharmacist and it involves assisting customers with over‑the‑counter medication sales, providing advice regarding symptoms and products, and promoting additional branch services. Inclusion of stock replenishment and support to the pharmacy team is essential.

This position best suits a person with previous client support experience and great attention to detail. The role requires resilience under tight deadlines and strong people skills. Teamwork with a well‑established staff is essential, as highly excellent service is central to this role.

On hire, graduates will be enrolled into a pharmacy assistant training course. The cohort will finish the training during use at the branch over a period of the weeks duration to be awarded–and‑qualified. The content is break‑points by the training schedule and training of professional functions guided by standard declaration.
