Job summary

A national pharmacy chain is seeking a Trainee Pharmacy Assistant for a permanent 32-hour per week position. Trainee Pharmacy Assistant – Permanent Contract (32‑hour per week)

We are looking to recruit a 32‑hour Trainee Pharmacy Assistant on a permanent contract to work at our 729‑branch located at Walderslade Medical Centre, Hoyland, Barnsley, S74 9AF.

Shift pattern
  • Monday 09:00‑18:00 (1‑hour unpaid lunch break)
  • Wednesday 09:00‑18:00 (1‑hour unpaid lunch break)
  • Thursday 09:00‑18:00 (1‑hour unpaid lunch break)
  • Friday 09:00‑18:00 (1‑hour unpaid lunch break)
What you will do

Whilst working in this branch you will gain excellent knowledge and skills which will contribute to you successfully gaining the recognised Counter Course and NVQ level 2 qualification in Dispensing.

Duties will include:

  • Accurately dispensing and labelling prescription items with guidance and supervision from the Pharmacist.
  • Assisting with the ordering and management of stock levels within the dispensary and the shop.

The utmost attention to detail is required in this role along with the ability to work under pressure and to meet strict deadlines. You will also have a desire to learn and progress your career in our business.

The successful candidate must have great people skills as this is paramount to your role. You will be required to work as part of a well‑established team and ensure our customers receive a high standard of service.

Who we’re looking for

This position is ideally suited to someone with previous customer service experience and who is willing to undertake the relevant training courses in order to progress.
