Job Opportunity: 1:1 Outreach Tutor - Okehampton, Devon 🎓

Location: Okehampton and surrounding areas

Contract Type: Part‑time / Flexible Hours

Salary: £20‑£35 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)

Start Date: Immediate or negotiable

Do you have a passion for helping young people thrive outside of the traditional classroom? We are looking for a compassionate and motivated 1:1 Outreach Tutor to support learners in the Okehampton area who are currently not in mainstream education.

About the Role:

You will work directly with individual students in their homes or community settings, delivering personalised lessons that support both academic progress and emotional wellbeing. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys flexible working and making a real difference in a young person's life.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored tuition in core subjects (English, Maths, Science)
  • Support learners with SEND, SEMH, or those at risk of exclusion
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with students and families
  • Collaborate with schools, local authorities, and other professionals
  • Track and report on student progress
What We're Looking For:
  • QTS/QTLS or significant tutoring/mentoring experience
  • Experience working with vulnerable or disengaged learners
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, adaptable, and empathetic approach
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
