Job summary

Prospero Teaching are looking for a Tutor to work 1:1 with students who are not in school in the Halstead area. Part-time opportunities can take place during the school day or after school hours and weekends.

The role focuses on Maths, English and sometimes Science across all key stages, with students typically at lower levels. You should be flexible and have experience in education, capable of engaging SEN learners in a supportive, motivating way.

Qualifications

• Must have tutoring experience and provide your own lesson plans.
• Experience working with Students with SEMH would be advantageous.
• Highly motivated and focused on achieving the best for every student.
• A positive attitude and desire towards working with SEN students.
• The ability to engage and motivate students whilst making learning fun.

About the Part-Time 1:1 Tutor position:

Prospero Teaching are looking for a Tutor to work 1:1 with students who are not in school in the Halstead and the surrounding area

• We have a variety of different part-time tuition opportunities that can take place during the school day or after school hours/weekends.
• Successful tutors should be able to support mainly with the core subjects of Maths, English and sometimes Science across all key stages. (the students we work with are usually low levels, the highest level you would be expected to tutor would be foundation level).
• You should be flexible, adaptable and have experience working within the education sector.
• Lessons could take place in either their home, care home or an alternative setting such as a local library.
• Students are likely to have difficulty responding to conventional teaching and may have behaviour and/or SEN difficulties. They are also likely to be working at lower levels than their peers.

Contract Details for Part-Time 1:1 Teacher position:

• Location - Halstead
• Position - Part Time 1:1 Teacher
• Type of work - Teaching a student in either their own home or a local library.
• Start date - ASAP
• Contract type - Temporary - likely to be long term
• Duration / Likely Duration - Ongoing until the student can return to school.
• Full time/part-time - Part-time - 3 hours per day
• Minimum rate of pay - 25 per hour

Experience, Training and Qualifications required for the Part-Time 1:1 teacher position:

• You MUST have relevant tutoring experience and be able to provide your own lesson plans
