Salary: £13.68 – £16.12 per hour

About the Role

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing personalised support to a student with additional learning, behavioural, or emotional needs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone committed to helping learners overcome barriers, build confidence, and achieve their full potential within a nurturing and collaborative school setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide dedicated one-to-one support to a student with additional needs.
  • Assist in delivering tailored learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Help maintain a calm, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Support the student in developing key skills, managing behaviour, and engaging positively in learning.
  • Work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals to ensure consistent and effective support.
Requirements
  • Experience supporting children with SEN, learning difficulties, or behavioural needs (school-based experience preferred).
  • A patient, calm, and encouraging approach.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and rapport-building skills.
  • Willingness to follow guidance and work collaboratively with teaching staff.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
What we ask from you
  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service, or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
